I removed the axle upper bushing rubber and replaced with polyurethane ones. Welded in the 4 link brackets to the frame stiffeners. Installed upper link arms and lower link arms.
It looks like I’ll need need 4” of bump stop to keep parts from contacting where they shouldn’t. I’ll also need to elongate 2 of the mounting holes on my track bar bracket. Ordered more hiems for custom track bar and ruffstuff shock mounts
Put a bevel to match the heim insert. Cleaned it up, ready for weld. Mocked up real quick to see what it looks like. Looks like the factory sway bar mounts need to be removed. It clears with the wheels straight but contacts before I can reach full lock steering angle. Scored some Jeep gladiator rubicon fox shocks for 120 bucks 🤘
Chopped the sway bar mounts off and cut the front of the coil spring perches at an angle, which also removed the lower track bar mount remnants. Boxed it in with 3/16 plate and bent a small piece of it up in front of the coil spring. Welded in the upper link mount and the track bar bracket. Was able to move the bracket right next to the coil perch. It’s welded into the axle tube, truss and coil perch. Also welded nuts on the back side of the bracket.
Upper shock mounts welded in! Getting very close to finishing this front end. Welded in bump stop pads, springs are in. Front axle ended up at 8” of travel. Ride height is right in the middle with 4” of up travel and down travel.
Replaced my front brake hard lines and installed rough country extended brake lines. Set the front end on its own weight. Dropped the gas tank, getting ready to weld in rear frame stiffeners. Going to plasma cut the rear leaf spring hangers out and do a cut and fold on the rear quarters
Great craftsmanship !! You're making wonderful progress and the upgrades should last for years to come...All those components will make for a whole new experience ...
