99' Classic DD

Here is my 99' Classic. I got her late last year with around 125,000 miles on it. She had some problems at the beginning but I got them fixed for the most part. From the start, I got her with pretty much no suspension under it. The shocks, shot. The leafs, flat, if not in the negeative degrees. I went under her one day and found out that the left rear shock had completely broken off from the unibody. It looks like it was welded on becuase there is still a peice of one of the bolts still molded to the unibody. I had bad U-joints and got those fixed recently. I am getting a 3 inch RCX lift on tuesday. Im excited to see the thing up in the air.
Heres how she sits. Attachment 53542 Attachment 53543 Attachment 53544 |

Yeah, that cemetary is the national cemetary. Its huge. Its gotta take up at least 6-7 acres of land.

Sweet color, would look great with black bumpers and a rack!

After the lift, Im planning on trying to get one more '99 Classic wheel. I want to have a 5 set so I can rotate thru them all. I dont know what tire will work best on the cherokee. Any recommendations? My dad owned a 2000 TJ and he had the old model MT/R's. Im looking at MT's and AT's. So if anyone has any opinions on tires, feel free to share. Im only getting a 3 inch lift, so Ill but some 31's under it.

Nice Jeep. I read your build. Yours has alot of history behind it. There are a couple gold cherokees that run around where I live. None as nice as mine though. Haha.
On the tires question my buddy adam (adamk on cherokeeforum) runs buckshots but he wants to get duratracs when he moves bigger. |
cleeean jeep man! lookin forward to seein where you go with it next!

Update on the lift:
We took it in to the shop. They got the lift on and couldn't adjust the caster for the alignment. The bolts were frozen. They called this morning saying that my jeep needs a new track bar and a steering stabilizer. I knew it had a DeathWobble at 55 but it was something that I just brushed off because I could avoid that speed. Now my lift is going to cost me nearly twice as much as it started out. My conclusion... shops suck. |
safety first!
