Since ive started to move along on the jeep now i figured id make a build thread. We'll see how this goes!
This is it after I bought it
3 inch skyjacker lift and 30x9.5 tires

Kuya 02-14-2016 05:14 PM

Looking good. Did you do the lift?

After I got it my dad and I had to fix all the stuff done by the PO regarding the lift. We replaced the rear springs with OME and also shocks all around. OME in the rear and rancho in the front. Put in a t-case drop. Then i put in relocation brackets because i wanted the rear to be a bit higher. Heres some pics before and after with relocation brackets. Adjusted the shackles too after the pic

Wanted a place for the spare tire instead of it being in the cargo area taking up room. So put on a smittybuilt rear bumper with tire carrier.

A few months ago i put in new speakers and two subs. 1 12'' and 1 10" in the small cargo area in the side. the 10 doesnt put out much because i didnt build a proper box for it, just kinda shoved it in. The 12 sounds great though.

Cool story to tell about the next mod. But one day i was in my last class of the day and the resource officer for the school comes in the class and calls me, tell me a bus ran in my jeep. Go out and look at it and gave her my license, registration and insurance. Ending up getting $1800 estimate for the repair. So i got a new bumper and a header panel and a lot extra that i used to get the snowboard I was gonna get anyways lol

Then came 3x3 leds for the bumper and d-ring shackles.
For awhile now ive wanted to get some bushwackers and 33s so because im impatient i went and bought some cheap falken wildpeak at's off craigslist. i figure theyll do the job till i have the money to drop 1000 bucks on some bfgs. Also have on the way a Zj tie rod set up. Ill be ordering some bushwackers tonight hopefully. Should I go with the cut outs or flats? I was originally gonna get some flats but saw an xj with 3 inch lift and 33s with the cut outs and looks really good. And will there be enough room for 33s with the flats?

lafd04 02-15-2016 08:03 AM

Id get flats but im not a fan of the other ones. But thats my personal opinion.

JeepXstreme 02-15-2016 09:30 AM

Looks great!!! I like both flats and bushwacker style.. just depends on wheel width etc.. IMO

Those wheels probally have 3.75 or more backspacing.. bc it looks like 8 inch rims ...could be 10 but looks 8... with a wide wheel stance those look sharp.. if he had stock wheels it would look odd!

I agree. I'm not sure the backspacing of my wheels. I think they are probably 4.5 but I'm not sure. But I'll be getting some new wheels with 3.75 bs

better to have a 15x8 wheel tho right

white99 02-17-2016 06:44 AM

Forgot to say what options and stuff the xj has.
It's got power windows and locks, heated mirrors, oem fog lights and I think that's the major stuff for interior.

Some plans for down the road
4.56 or 4.88 gears
Lockers
Custom cargo roof rack
Bfgs or some type of mud terrain
Light bar
Prob lift it more
SYE, trac bar, shocks, spacers, shackles for the lift.
And a winch that goes into the receivers front and back

SMART !!! Going to look great!!!!

SoCal_XJ 02-18-2016 01:33 PM

Looks great man! I have the pocket flares on mine. It looks decent but I'm only running a 33x10.5 on 3.75 bs. Soon as these tires are done I'm going to get some 35x12.5's to help fill everything out.

white99 02-19-2016 01:48 PM

Bushwacker flares came in the mail today. Might be able to put them on this weekend.

white99 02-19-2016 07:48 PM

Got the zj tie rod in. I'll get a pic maybe tomo. And also took off stock flares to get ready for the bw flares. So much dirt and crap came out from the stock fender flares

Looking at the first pic looks like I'll have the get the tires flipped and switched because of uneven wear. Go figure.

They r definitely quiet from what I can tell so far.
The ride is better than I thought it would be. They don't seem to be that much more rough than what I had before.

haven't got on here in a while. just a little update. Replaced my water pump for the 2nd time in a years period. Had a warranty on the old one so that was good. Replaced front rotors and calipers and put on some hawk pads. Just ordered some new tires but on backorder. They were cheap so I cant complain. just finished bedlining my headliner. Pretty happy with it for what it is. Ill post a pic at some point of it.
