98 Cherokee XJ some problems

Just bought a 98 Cherokee Sport XJ with 198,000 miles for a great price. It starts and runs well. Lots of power and moves like a tank.

A few things that are wrong are that the E-brake doesn't work, there's a cable coming out next to the driver side door, and little things like replacing fuses, etc.

Is there any source where I can get a free service manual or if I could get a little help with these issues? This is my first Jeep and plan on taking this long distances so I would like everything to be in tip-top shape.

Dont know about a free FSM, but you can find manuals (Hayes and such) for just a few bucks. You need to investigate some of this stuff for yourself or at least provide more details or pics. Cable by the door is vague, as is e-brake doesn't work. If you are taking it long distances then a full tune up and inspections are in order.
Congrats on the purchase.
