98 Cherokee Auto To Manual Swap Help And Info
 

I am starting a merge between a 2wd 98 Cherokee and a 92 Cherokee sport 4wd. This thread will not detour anyone from attempting the task. We all know that it is intense, but I have not found many that actually did it on a 97-up. I will post pics and info as I go, but I do and will have questions. One question is the TCM on the 98. Will it cause drivability issues? can it be reflashed? I do not want to trash the gauge cluster, but I will if needed.

From what I've gathered you won't need the Tcm so you can trash it. You will need a ECM from a manual XJ though.
