97 XJ Country stock lift?
Hey guys,
I recently bought my first Jeep! It's a 97 Cherokee XJ Country and I was told that this model came with a stock 1" lift. It has a lot of clearance and no sag on stock wheels. So I kinda buy into it, but I can't find anything on it.
Is it true or was this guy blow smoke up my butt? Probably the later. Either way, please advise!
Thanks,
Eboy.

There is a trim level which is known as the Country. There is also an Up-Country package that included the 1" lift and skid plates from the factory. There is no badging for the Up-Country package, but the Country trim level will have emblems on the Jeep. Sounds like you have the Country trim level.

OK, so I did some research on that package and found the skid plates under the engine and gas tank, also a sticker on the back driver side window that says UpCountry Suspensions. So, I do have that 1" lift. With that, could I go ahead and put a 2" budget lift on her to get a total of 3"s of lift? I'm looking to put the new Rubicon wheels on her and that's what I'll need without doing any fender cutting.
