97 Expedition Style
1997 XJ with Up-Country suspension
155k miles
Automatic
NP 231
End goal: Have a capable and reliable rig to take my family and I to remote camping locations and be able to do moderate trails. We're not into hardcore wheelin' so we're not doing anything crazy to the Jeep. It will be a slow process as being in school and having a baby puts most Jeep parts on the back burner.
Just installed coil spacers and 2" shackles on Saturday along with some 245/75/16 Dean mud terrains on 16" Ranger wheels. Sitting at roughly 3" of lift. So far no vibes front or rear.
So far I've upgraded stock battery cables to 2 gauge cables
New battery
Tune up
Brake pads
Amp + sub
JVC HU
Hella 500 lights on bumper
Future:
Clear corners/parking lamps
Get real tint (not the bubbling purple crap that's on there)
Finish my roof rack (EMT conduit for the upper portion, futon rack frame on the bottom)
Swing out tire carrier
Front winch bumper
Sliders
Relay box for accessories
Custom overhead console
ZJ leather seats
Car PC or tablet for running Torque + GPS maps etc
Paint wheels black
Flat fender flares

Haven't really done much as I've been busy with family in town and working on my wife's XJ.
I painted my wheels satin black... still need to re-scuff and repaint the rears as they didn't finish well due to the primer not setting properly due to cold conditions.
Still need to paint the center caps... thinking about painting the center caps, flat fender flares (whenever I get around to making some), area between the front bumper end caps and the lower portion of the Cherokee a dark charcoal color to offset all of the black.
Still need to finish getting off the adhesive residue from the white pin stripe and side moulding.

Finished up my front bumper finally... used fog lights from a Grand Am/Grand Prix. Cut the holes out with a jigsaw and used automotive door moulding/trim to clean it up a bit. Getting the holes just right was a pain and there is some gappage due to the bumper not being a completely flat surface. Overall I like how it turned out. Also drilled the driver side bumper bracket a bit to align it so it's not tweaked like before.
Still need to wire up the fogs and Hellas. Going to make a FitchBox for that and get an overhead console and probably throw the switches up there.
Also painted the wheel center caps the same color as the front bumper. I'll most likely end up doing the rockers the same color as well.

Any progress? I'm really digging the 'expedition' ideas I'm seeing. going to change my build title to match these.
