97 Cherokee

Hi guys,

Just bought a 97 XJ 155k $1750. I haven't brought it home yet. I noticed some drops of engine coolant on the floor and assumed that I will have to change a hose or two, the radiator or maybe the pump.

1) Should I be considering other parts?

Anyway I hope I made a good deal and that I won't regret my purchase. My goal is to have a small lift kit, nothing drastic, this will be my daily driver. I just want to give it a meaner look. I'm thinking about a 2" lift, but the only one I can find are either AAL or blocks. From what I have seen the leaf spring are shot and need to be replaced.

2) I wonder if I can find a 2" lift kit that will replace my saggy leaf springs instead of AAL or using blocks. I really would like to avoid any TC drop. Will that be ok with 2" lift?

3) Will 30" tires fit?

Here are some cell phones pics:

Hell of a deal. Check out old man emu lifts for small spring packs. And yes 30s will fit.

I am looking at the OME 2" leaf springs.

I know i will have to buy two of them.

1) Do I need to get new shocks (longer) or can I keep the stock ones?

2) Which lift should I get for the front suspension?

3) What else do I need?

4) Which 30" tires would you recommend for a mostly daily driver?

Thank you all very much!

i think the stock shocks should fit if your only going up 2 inches, when i had my rustys 2 inch lift i kept them and they did fine, also for the front get some 2 inch spacers and that shoulde make it nice and even front and back, and for the tires i would get the general grabber at2s they are great tires and ive had them twice on my jeep, they are great in any terrain and they are really good on the street too, also very affordable for what you get
