96 xj crawler build!!!

i dont have any pics from before but im goin to start a build thread from here on out on everything else i do to it. it will be just a trail rig/rock crawler. its a 96 cherokee. has full interior and blows cold a/c !!! has 6.5in coils in front along with a dana 44 with 5.29 gears. ford 9in in the rear with 5.29 gears, locker, and disc brakes. it just has adjustable shackles right now. my HD shackle relocation kit is on the way. im still trying to figure out what leaf springs to go with. i put some chevy 52in springs in it which set axle back 3in but they dont have enough arch to them so the shackle and back of leaf spring sit low. so they will hit on everything.(so any advice on some springs that i should run with enough arch and that will set the axle back 3-5in would be appreciated) running 37-13.50 pitbull rockers. also i took the gas tank out. i was going to cut floor out and put it there for some clearance but decided that im going to order a fuel cell because my tank is beat to hell. i will be building bumpers, rock sliders, diff skids, and tc skid very soon. i already have the rear fenders cut out for the axle being set back. i still have to go through and clean everything up and weld in new wheel wells. i will also be getting rid of them wheels for a set of steel beadlock wheels. anyways heres a few pics of the xj,,,,

a pic with the 52in chevy springs. they set axle back 3in but i dont think they have enough arch. so there for the shackle sticks down very far.

So did you swap the 9" and 44 in yourself or did you buy it like that?

MACATTACK89 08-23-2012 03:18 AM

I got it with the axles already swapped.

MACATTACK89 08-26-2012 07:55 PM

Well.. got my HD shackle relocation kit in friday and i painted it today and got it put on. shackle angle looks WAY BETTER now. hoping sometime this week i will get a new set of leaf springs. i guess im goin to try some s10 springs. i need something with more arch to them and not as stiff as these 52s i have on it now. also i repainted my steering arms and track bar. then hoping tomorow i can build my new driveshaft. im still waiting for my cherokeeforum.com stickers

TheCK4x4 08-26-2012 08:19 PM

The 40 series sound real good from what I've heard. I just run a small spin cat and straight pipe back
