96 TREXJ Build
Hey all, decided to start a build thread, already put pretty much everything on that was bought to start this build, I will post pics from before the lift untill now, any suggestions, comments are welcome.... for the most part
So i bought this jeep because well jeeps are awesome, I love off roading and wanted something that i could actually work on. Oh and its a standard so that sealed the deal when i saw it. Im sure i overpaid for what I got, but for a first time buying i didnt do horrible. Body needs a lil work but the engine runs great. Here it is stock after i bought it...

I started out with this stock as you can see... had aftermarket driving light aka "fog lights" haha. So i ripped those off and after one time offoading with it decided i would have to go higher. My leafs were sagging past the straight point so I would need to replace them anyways, might as well start with a lift. After searching for quite a time and talking to several people i finally ordered my RE 3.5" superflex kit with quick discos. After a week of waiting it finally arrived.

next it was time to start looking at wheels and tires. I knew if i was gonna go bigger tires i would prolly need wider wheels, so in came the Summit D-series 15x8 steelies, and finally got the Wrangler Duratracs 31x10.5. Now its time to start putting things together

Started off with the front putting this together by myself with no mechanical experience was deff a challenge.... got everything installed on the front except the quick discos, and it only took me about two and half days.... long painful days..... Here is the progress so far...... much better

after this was done i started on the back, it had been giving me a hard time ever since the beginning of this project... and the back was no different. things started out fine untill i needed to get the old springs out... found i had to take hitch off then got pissed cause i thought i was gonna have to take off the gas tank to get that off.... lesson learned when in doubt call someone who knows something.... so called up a buddy from CF and got things rolling untill the next hiccup, the brakes so another CF member joins the crew and we spent a good7 hours finishing the back up..... not quite done have to fix a shock bolt up on the top, but almost done

Nice choice with the steelies but just so you know Duratracs 31x10.5 (and km2 33x10.5) fit fine on stock rims with enough room between the tire and frame.
33x10.5 km2s
31x10.5 duratracs
Your build looks great so far though
