now i decided the 4.0 is tiered and needs a break as well as my transfer case needs a rebuild and the diffs could use some love soooooo this summer i've got some plans

4.2l Stroker
yet to be broken down to a specific part for part list
remove the a/c and find a delete pully since i never use it
upgrade the cooling system to keep the new engine happy with a high flow water pump and less restricting thermostat housing from hesco
thor cowl induction intake to keep her breathing happy(still debating) i might go with a snorkel instead
replace and renew the front dana 30
replace the dana 35 with a jy dana 44 with a lockright locker and zj disc conversion
and install a slip yoke eliminator with new drive shaft when rebuilding the transfer case
and the thing i'm most looking forward to is running 100% royal purple in everything engine, cooling system, tranny, transfer case, diffs, power steering fluid alllllll around

let me know what you guys think and comment away

You sure did a good job. I like your plans for it. I wish I had the funds to do it. Would love a stroker engine.

well i've got a dad who used to be a journey man mechanic and my old neighbor can order pretty well any part i want through his back yard business and he builds engines all the time so i've got the people to help me out with the build and help me pick out parts for best performance. lots of choices though.................

after the performance is done i'd like to do a front end 97-01 clip swap and some fresh paint (maybe desert tan) and powder coat my bumpers and roof rack

i might strip the interior this summer and do rubber flooring and a custom center console out of steel with some fresh buckets from salvage and reupholster the back seat

all ideas but i have to finish school first

Bimmer_2002 02-24-2012 06:52 AM

Sounds good!

i got if from my old neighbor he used to own a garage in mj but retired and just does work out of his back yard but still can get parts from all his suppliers it put me back $450, and he called a few different companies and a guy in calgary that specializes in jeeps and the jbas are the best available direct swap header since other brands are gettin away from them like bank due to cracking problems:thumbdown:

the drivers side is easy as its only surface rust but the passanger side needs a bit of patching followed by the whole floor covered in a sealer to prevent further rust so that will keep my busy for a while. plus the dash is out and the a/c is gone custom dash and center consel is in te works :gunsmilie:
