Well I just picked up a 93 2 door xj I was planning on using for my dd its a solid jeep there isnt even a rust spot anywere even underneath and the interior is excelent the only problame was it perrty well blew up on the way home I test drove it and every thing yesterday it did fine just had a slight miss today tho it started blowing oil out were it shouldnt and got a perrty good tap to it I pulled the plus and relized cylinder 6 was dead and full of oil and I pulled the dip stick when I got home and it was a nice shiny silver so somthing wearing quick it had a fresh oil change tho so I didnt relize it when I picked it up so now after saying that it looks like its time for a rebuild gona start pulling the motor this weekend and get it ready to rebuild it but all in all I think I got a perrty good deal only paid 1000 for a very solid jeep with 2 inch lift and 31s

Yea i know what you mean. I have a 98 4door thats lifted and i bought the 2dr so that i can dd it but it runs great and everything but it needs floors bad so ill prolly do that this summer

Well ive began tearin the motor down to be pulled tonight only had about an hour to work on it.

Well i got a good start on pulling the motor last night. As you can see from my previouse post i got the intake manifold off and everything on that side of the motor out of the way. not gona be able to work on it agien till friday night but gona pull an all nighter and hopefully have the motor out and start tearing it down this weekend so i can get the block and head to the machine shop. Gona get it all checked out good and see how much over its gona need bored or it may just need honed. im going to get the had and block hot tanked so its all nice and clean then go on and get the head decked and valve seats ground. Im gona do the gasket matching and all my self was thinking about having it port and polished but dont know if the gain is realy worth the extra money.


Once i get the motor out and off to the shop im gona get the engine cleaned up and tend to anything else that needs fixed. cant wait to get this thing done and on the road.

Well the motor is almost out just pulled the head off and found out why i had a dead cylinder. Cylinder 6 has a nice chunk missing realy didnt scare the wall to bad tho so hopefully a little honing and itll be good the rest of the motor looks like it hardly has any wear at all. Took plenty of pics tonight sorry they are kinda blurry my shop lights was messing with the camra.

Got the motor on the ground tonight relized its been into a few times has a new freeze plug in it and looks like it had been slapped together. Im hoping to get it on a stand tomarow and get it torn down

Well got the motor totaly torn down its trashed all the barrings are pitted and the crank is scared all to hell thinkin bout just gettin a new crate motor to just drop in it amd call it good

Im ordering a new long block tomarrow from napa should be in befor the weekend hoping to get it in amd have it running next week so hopefully my build will start getting interesting soon insted of me just trying to get it running

Just got the motor odered should be here by the weekend 1939.00 then I get a 100 dollar rebate so I dont think thats to awful bad for a remaned with a 3 year warrenty even comes with valve cover and oil pan
