92 Limited XJ Build
I've finally started working on her, so i figure i might as well start my build thread. This is my second XJ, sold the first and bought this one. A 1992 Limited 4.0 H.O rides on a Dana 35 I payed $700 from my cousin. it had about 180,000 when i got it. He had kept up on maintenance, and had done some small upgrades. It sat with a 2' Block in the back, and spacer up front. When i got it i changed the fluids, and replaced the Ujoints.

First thing i wanted to do was get rid of the gold pin stripping. I really just wasn't feeling it.
I bought some adhesive remover from O'rielly's, taped the jeep off than went at it.
That decal remover was some evil stuff.
Here it is stripping off. Much better, in my opinion

I did quite a bit of reading up on cheaper lifts and decided on the 4.5' Zone lift. Got my Tax return and headed down to a local lift shop and they actually had the lift in stock, so i snagged it. I payed for the Nitro shock upgrade but I had to get the AAL kit cause i really didn't have the extra money for the full pack.

Started with the rear end and had PB blasted the heck out of everything the night before to try and prevent bolt breakage. And well it worked, we surprisingly didn't break a single bolt.
Trying to get the rear leaf bolts loose.
Here are the leafs with the new AAL.

Those bolts on the leaf were probably the biggest problem we ran into on the rear end. That and lining the axle up once the new leafs were in. Aside from those things it went fairly smooth.

Morning came, and we started tearing into the front end. The front went much smoother than the rear end. We had troubles getting bolts lined up, but other than that it went fairly well. All in all, i was expecting much worse. We didn't break a single bolt on the whole project. Living in Salt Lake with decent winters, and lots of salt on the roads i was expecting to break bolts. But courtesy of loads PB Blaster we handled it without casualty's.

Yea. I started with the rockers and kept going higher. This summer I will be doing the whole jeep. It's just easier. Take your time trimming the fenders. Pencil it first and make sure that's what you want. Once it's cut there's no going back. Let me know if ya have any questions. Good luck
