But that's fair enough! My bike has been sitting without use for most of the year. Just don't have the time it seems, just been put on the backburner for now which is too bad. Love riding still.
But yeah you should definitely remove the rear swaybar and make quick discos for the front! You'll be glad you did.
Damn dude that sucks, and being stuck inside is the worst. Get out and ride yo bike! She misses you haha. I do know how hard it is though.

Yes yes, should be quick and easy to get the rear off, probably get that done this weekend, and researching the front.

Yeah I need to get out riding again haha. I just haven't lately, idk why. Could use some work as usual too.

Yeah the rear sway bar shouldn't be an issue to get off. The front I've seen some designs people did, but not sure how well the design functions. Give it a shot anyways! Worth it.

Love the build... I have a 92 2dr 5speed love it as my DD .. yet to take off road lol.. We got it more for a 4x4 suv but it came with 4.5 Rubicon superflex and other upgrades with only a few hundred miles on them.. including tires and rims... dude blew #6 piston .. all said and done.. 145k mile junkyard motor new rad and other stuff $2300 in it.. that was 7 years ago 70k miles later ... 2 doors just look so much cooler.. but the lack of that 2nd post for the 4door does make the body twist more .. why you popped the window out... now the fact you are 19 ? had 2 years.. ? wow.. you did real good for your first ride..

Sounds like a fun ride! 2dr 5spds are just awesome haha. Nice that you got yours with very low mileage on the upgrades!

But yeah thank you! I've done pretty good for the 2 years I've had it just working a very part time job through highschool and college welding course! Had some lucky deals and such that got me here. But I enjoy it a ton, and lots more to come!

Is this true? I have a 2 door 5 speed myself and this is the first I've heard of the 2 door body twisting more. I suppose that makes sense... I just never thought about it.

When I was researching jeeps before we bought ours.. I read that on one of these sites.. not sure where.. but.. it made sense to me.. it is an extra support going to roof and being a unibody they flex anyway..

Well finally got the new U-joints done in the front driveshaft. Was rolling around without one for quite a while haha. Here's what cane out of one of the caps lol

Well this cap sure as hell wasn't getting any grease! Rust and dry as a bone, gross.

Aaaand no more bluetooth driveshaft!

3 new MOOG HD U-joints

Also, for the bumper, these are the brackets I'm starting with! Will be welding with these and C-channel for the bumper itself.

Frame tie in/recovery brackets that I'm going to build my bumper off of.

Picked up some parts for the C8.25 end to be swapped in.
Drum brake "rebuild" kit, wheel cylinders, and brake shoes. Also pinion seal.
Then a 87-96 Dodge Dakota rear brake softline, they're much longer, about 6" I think it is. So no stretched brake line! Raybestos part #BH38576.

Also waiting on 2X passenger side E-brake cables from a 91-95 Jeep YJ, waaay longer than stock XJ ones, and mine are stretched bad. So those will be super nice to have.

The front needs axle shafts/seals+ujoints, hubs, brakes, steering I'll figure out haha. But I'm planning to have them in before winter hits, having the LSD for the ****ty snow/ice driving will be nice!
Plus I'll be getting 33s when I find a nice deal and/or trade my 31s. I think I'll go to 33s at least, they'd help for the wheeling. 31s just are a bit too small and like to drop down in between rocks, where a 33x12.5 wouldn't have. Went out for a run with the local Jeep club, and boy my poor XJ got abused. Open diffs and 31s didn't cut it.
I hear you there, When I first bought my XJ it had 33"s on it already, but with the 3.07 gears my rig was useless. So while I was browsing C.L. I saw a guy that was selling/trading his 31" to get 35" I ask him to consider trading for my 33" and I would pay to have the mounting and balancing done. That helped but when I swapped in my son's axles from his old XJ it was golden! But I too am tired of bottoming out on the rocks so as soon as I can swing installing my new axles and afford to get new tires I plan on buying some KO-2's. I'll use the 31s' for my XJ camper I am building right now.

I believe that. My XJ even with everything Disconnected My XJ when articulating You can barely open the hatch to get to recovery gear, let alone close it until it is on level ground. I really need to do mid stiffeners when I can.

The hatch is structural, that's why you have a hard time opening/closing the hatch when flexed. I would avoid doing that, as in opening the hatch flexed. It could potentially cause a bit of damage to the unibody. The doors aren't structural, but the hatch is.

Picked up the E-brake cables today for the rear end. 2x 91-95 Jeep YJ passenger side cables.
Another thing to add to the list. Going to do this once I get my axles in. Just easier doing setting it up and everything with it installed. Raising the rear axle side shock mounts, the way done in this forum. Then run probably Bilstein 5100s for a 3" lift (21.85" extended, 8.17" travel. Should be a good setup, and I can add BPEs if I want a bit more)

Thanks man! What've you got?
Oh funny haha, I'm up in Comox! I got the axles from down in Nanaimo. Down there every once in a while, plan to come wheeling down there once I've got the axles under it and done a few other things.
