Default 91 XJ BUILD (no turning back)

Well the story starts, I picked up a 91 XJ from a guy that tore up the trans, for 800 bucks. Put in a junkyard AW4 and then it all started. Cut and folded the quarters, trimmed the fenders & quarter wheel well. Building some tube fender protector/tire savers. Installed a Rock Shifter from http://radesignsproducts.com/Home.aspx (freakin awesome) Just ordered some 33 10.5 BFG MTR KM2's (I got the same ones on my dually) Added a 2in budget boost and also ordered a 3.5 RE6025 kit. Now I need some shocks and wheels and I think im good for another week. I'll post pics tomorrow. Be ready for some scary crap, I get a little happy around air tools, and welders.

looks good man, I'm still thinking of the cross braces from the inner structure. I'd like to make it removable the body side piece will have a flat foot for a bolt. I'f I get a drill press or tube nocher I'll use round tube othewise my options are limited to flat stock/ angle iron.

How hard was it to install that rock shifter and how do you like it? Your jeep looks sweet, I like the fenders.

it was an easy install because my console was already off when I pulled out the interior. But basically unbolt 4 bolts that hold shifter to floor disconnect 2 cables, 1 was transmission the 2nd was ignition lockout, reinstall 4 bolts and hook up transmission cable. Done

Damn, thanks. How much more do you like it than the stock shifter?

its really great being able to hit the shifter back and foward. I have not trail tested it yet, but I use my XJ at the shop pulling customer trailers and our trash trailer around and its quite nice. I wouldn't go back to the stock shifter because this is so crisp and firm. I still need to hook up the rail shifter which lets me hold any gear i see fit and wont up or downshift.

Thanks for the positive comments guys.

Heres a picture from yesterday. We went to 4wheelParts to pick up my dads and brothers tires and wheels All 10 are BFG KM2's as well 33's and 35's. Collectively we have 20 BFG mud Terrain KM2's. It was really a religious experience driving home looking in the mirror.
