Default 89 xj-the beginning to an addiction.

This is my jeep xj build, its an 89 with pretty much no options besides 4wd. 4.0 with auto trans. D35 and D30. Just your basic xj.

new radiator: I didnt want to deal with the closed cooling system here in the desert so I ordered a radiator for a 92 xj. Its a reeeeeaaaally tight fit against the airbox, but that will all go away when I make my cowl cold air intake. The stock radiator was a single row and the 92 is a double row so I think I came out on the good side. Right now it is a little jerry rigged though.

Looking good. My radiator was tight against the air box too, I just re drilled the mounting holes on bottom of air box to move it 1/4 inches to clear that little piece of radiator on top.

thanks! I thought of doing that but I think I'm just going to be going with the cowl cold air intake.

These are all from like a month ago haha. since then I put on 1" extended shackles and got 2.5ish out on the front from F100 coils. The ride in the front is pretty stiff. And Im still using stock tires.

lots of stock and junkyard wheeling pics to put up. My scoutmaster gave me a nice bumper to put on the rear a while ago. I haven't put it on because I have to cut the quarters. I now have a reason to put it on. some idiot driving behind me who wasn't watching where he was going: its worse than it looks in the picture.

Last night the jeep got stuck in 1st and second and it wouldn't shift. looks like I finally have a reason to sink my teeth into this build! this is going to be a lot of pictures, so if you don't like pictures this probably wouldn't be the build to follow.

I decided to work my way from the front to the back of the jeep lifting and fixing problems as I go along.
