89 cherokee pioneer
just bought a 89 cherokee pioneer for 700 bucks. No rust! 4x4 works power windows work stereo and a/c works perfect. Paint job is good. Interior is amazing. the guy said they did a restoration on the jeep a couple years ago. has the inline six. Going to put it on the road as my second vehicle. Going to need brakes and new springs on the rear. Going to do this one right. Had problems in the past with the frame breaking by the steering box so going to put a plate on it. Already looking for a lift kit. not sure what im going to do. Everything thing is stock and so i do not want to cut the fenders. prob do a 3 to 4 with a nice set of 32s. Also i need info on the paint. The guy ran over a gallon of house paint in his driveway and it is speckled/splattered on one side. I have tried paint thinner and did not do much. Only thing that has worked was rubbing alcohol but it was a lot of rubbing for tiny spots. Going to try and clay bar it. Any advice is appreciated. Here are some pics. The paint was fading on the flares so sanded them down and painted black. Will get more pictures soon. The guy also threw in a set of four 2012 grand cherokee 20inch aluminum rims for free. He thought they would fit on this 89 but i knew they wouldnt. Trying to sell them. Had an email for 500 but they havent got back to me

well did the title transfer today. That was 85. Then wanted to register it but to register it was 320! i dont think my 02 f250 was that much! And the tax collector doesnt take visa and thats all i have so i have to save up some cash. Gives me time to work on that house paint. I bought a clay bar kit from work (advance auto) bc thats what people on google said. Didnt put a dent into it. Rubbing alcohol is working but lots of time and lots of alcohol. It sucks but needs to be done. Priced out front pads, rotors, and calipers just to get it all new and it was 90 for all of it. Thats me making everything done. I think im going to go with the steering box brace that goes across the frame rails instead of the brace. dont ffel like taking the box off. Looks like it would work and if anything ill make my own brace out of steel and weld it. thats what i did on my old cherokee.

got the brakes in today. Calipers are giving me trouble tho. having my uncle look at them. One side is very lose while the other is very tight. Im thinking about doing the bastard pack with s10 springs and getting some rusty coils and trac bar drop. Need to find the best quick discos too. thats a little down the road tho. need to get it on the road first!

I just sold the rims for 350. So I paid 350 for the jeep. Not to bad. Going to use that money for the reg. but first I'm having a problem with the front turn signals aren't working or working right. The passenger one isn't working the the driver is very faint. Going to try and clean the sockets. First thought it was the switch. But the back turns are working. So I think it's a bad ground

My uncle is getting rid of some old cj springs and the rear are the same width. Going to see if I can find xj springs at the jy and try to make a bastard pack out of them. I have searched if any body had used cjs but didn't find any useful knowledge.

Picked up some almost brand new BFG goodrich all terrain knock off tires for 200 bucks. They are pegasus a/t. Figures if I didn't like them I can still get 200 bucks out of them. They are a 31x10.5xr15. I'll post pics tomorrow. I'm looking into the box braces. I need to get them coming. I almost pulled the trigger on the more brave tonight but I was reading and said it sometimes pulls the box away from the frame. I might go with the c rok brace on the outside but it's like 40 bucks more and I'm not sure if that would be more beneficial. I'll just have to do more research.
