89' cherokee

heres mine and my brothers 89 jeep limited 4x4....Its got a 4.0 in it, so im hoping that means stronger transer case, and stronger axles, also its the limited edition, and it has power seats, leather, 6 speaker sound system, auto tranny with power and comfort mode, not too sure what this does just yet. It starts and runs and drives good though and has almost no rust at all, you can still see the undercoating on the frame so i think i did pretty good, we each payed 250 for it.

future plans inlcude:
4.5" lift
31" mud terrain tires
eventually a brush guard and thats it hopefully.

don't wanna deal with a sye, or dropping everything. and a 31" tire will be very functional, and shouldn't rub or stress the axles much or anything.

31's gonna look small. I'd get 32's not too much heavier of a tire.

thanks I wanted 33's but my brother was thinking they will rub, but i'll tell him 32's its both of ours so we have to agree somewhat on what we do to it, but i told him its deffiently getting a 4 or 4.5" lift. thanks tho. :head:

if you are only going with a 31" tire i would do a 3-3.5" lift

when you move up to 4.5" you are more likely to need a SYE or t-case drop

i'm doing a 2" lift and 31's on mine and my brother's trail rig, but i'm trimming the fenders pretty good

thats a great looking jeep...look forward to the build....its nice to see another set of brothers building a rig together

transfer case drop is $20 dollars and easy to do and its not really needed mine drives the same as it does now with it. Get a Steering Stabilizer for sure to keep from death wobble.

yah we're just gonna buy a 4.5" lift and sye before we do anything i guess, don't wanna hack it or buy things 2 or 3 times, its going to be driven quite a bit, around town. we both have diesel trucks that make over 500whp each over 1000lbs of torque so this jeep build will be very cheap compared to our truck. only reason for only going with a 4.5" lift and 32's is because we want to keep it simple.

you can fit 33's with 4 inches with slight fender modifications which cutting fenders is always entertaining but i recommend using a grinder and cut off wheel if you do it and want it straight sawzal shakes the fender pretty good
