88 Cherokee Budget Build.

So i am new to this forum. and new to Jeeps. i have always been a Yota guy. (plz dont throw stones at me:001_unsure:) anyways its been a year without any projects. so i had that urge to start a new 4x4. i found this cherokee for $500! it runs good. little body damage, few things dont work (rear hatch doest stay up, needs turn signals, small stuff like that) but perfect for a wheeler build. I am poor so this will be a Budget build, lots of DIY homebrew stuff. lots of PICS!! if you have any input or ideas for me, go right ahead! always interested in what you have to say. here is the jeep

rear fender cut and fold
7 Attachment(s)
I went ahead and folded my rear fenders. here is a quick write up on how i did so.
Tools: hammer/mallet angle grinder sharpie after i pulled the flares off i used the Sharpie to mark where the press welds were so i didnt accidentally cut thru them. Attachment 348808 dont do what i did here, i went a little high with the grinder and u will see when i fold it u can see the cut. Attachment 348809 start folding with hammer. Attachment 348810 kinda a bad pic, but u can see the underside of the fender when its folded Attachment 348811 as u can see this is where i cut too high Attachment 348812 and this is where i didnt cut too high, looks litle better :) Attachment 348813 this is the end result for mine. Attachment 348814 (note: if u have nice paint... i would recomend using a heat gun to soften the paint where u r folding, or it will chip off like mine did. i dont care cuz im gonna paint over it all ;) ($515) |
sorry been busy with work havnt had time to post. more to come soon!!

kbphillips, its not hard at all, and if you are decent at welding u can fix and mistakes ;) just mark with a sharpie where the pinch welds are so u dont cut into them. look at a few write-ups and go at it!! haha
