88 Build
Had my 88 for close to two years now..when I got it I was fresh out of High School and was a broke college kid. Now I am a college kid with a decent job but still kind of broke...haha. Hadnt had a Jeep before this but had always wanted one. I actually never had a 4wd until this. Before I purchased my xj I actually came close to going with an old tacoma, but Dad convinced me to pass it up. Dad and I found the Xj on craigslist for 2000, went to take a look at it and drove it off an hour later for 1800. At time of purchase the Jeep was in excellent condition for an 88. Almost new tires, NO body damage, Interior was perfect except for the small tear in the drivers seat. Since I had just moved in with my GF and she had no car it became the DD. After around 6 months of driving it daily we got a new car and my XJ sat in the drive for a while...I wanted to wheel it BAD but didnt have the funds for a lift and tires, and also had some other issues that needed to be taken care of. My steering column felt as if it could break at any time, I needed about half a mile to stop, and I started overheating BAD!

After having the roof rack for about 3 weeks I got bored with it and added some Hella 500s to the front of it...for some reason I mounted them on the top rail until I decided they looked like rediculous like Mickey Mouse ears. I also started using my XJ as a fishing rig. I have a terrific fishing hole by my APT. but you need a good 4wd to get there. Here is also a pic of my Jeep Stuck during a flash flood where the creek was rising at an incredible pace.

Started doing some Maintenece, rebuilt my steering column, and had my brakes fixed, also discovered a crack in my overflow resivor, causing my anti freeze leak. To give you all an idea for future plans I am going with a 3 inch rustys lift and 31's (not sure what kind of 31s though) as well as a new front and rear bumper. More pics and updates when I get home!

Mud terrain tires are for more than just mud, I dislike mud as well. I would rather crawl over stuff and trail ride.
All terrains I LOVE my Dueller Revos made by Bridgestone.
I will be going with BEG KM2s for my next purchase. They are a MT tire.

Yea ive seen those...they are like 660 installed here. The tread looks great on them, might go with those but I would really like a more "popular" tire with a good rep...cheap though!

Did some sanding and painting this week, my chrome bumper was honestly making the jeep look older in my opinion, it had faded and really looked awful. Here is what I did...before and after pictures

The PO had painted the rocker panels with latex...terrific...they have started to peel over the years and look like hell...here is what I say to that! Crappy pictures I know...bad lighting out right now..I taped them up and sanded down and went with a nice flat black..more pictures soon.
