Model: Comanche
Engine: GM 2.8l V6
Default '86 MJ engine swap

I am going to be starting an engine swap on my '86 Jeep Comanche and replacing it's awesome powerless GM 2.8l V6 that is actually in need for a new crank shaft and might have more problems than I know with a 3.4l V6 out of a ~'95 camaro/firebird because I've heard their not that hard of a swap. But if anyone has some advice or anyone else that has a thread about this it would help greatly!
this is the only "guide" I'm going off of http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/...Project_XJ.htm

This is my Beauty

I had an 86 MJ that I rebuilt the 2.8 in. Worst case of throwing money away I can remember. That was a gutless pig even after a 4 barrel carb, cam, and intake and 30 overbore. But, as with any case of buyer's remorse, after I got the truck done, I found out that Novak makes adapters for a small block bow tie into a 2.8 jeep truck. Its worth a google search. Small blocks can be had for very cheap and they are very reliable. I have seen some 3.4 swaps, and they look good and sound easy in nature, but if I were doing it again, I wouldn't hassle with the v-6. PM me if you want any more info, I did some pretty in depth research on it.

They say you can polish a turd, but in the end it's still a turd. Well thats what the ol 2.8 comanche was, even after every edelbrock and holley accessory. I had the money to spend, so it was more of an experiment we'll say. hahaName: DSC01217_zps8dfae2b0.jpg
