All the 2.5 and 2.8L XJs had 4.10 ratio gears in the differentials. So since yours is original it has that ratio, which is a sought after ratio for 31" tires.
You said you wanted to put a V8 in. That is a lot of work and you will need to replace the tranny and do some cross member work as well as convert to the 4.0L front sheet metal and radiator. The best thing to do is to stick with your current tranny and get the 3.4L Chevy out of a camaro. They are good for up to 160 hp and have after market support like all Chevy engines and can be taken up higher. It will be a bolt in. You might want a 2 or 3 core radiator though

also ik the 3.4L V6 from a camaro is a bolt in to replace the 2.8L V6, but idk if it is bolt-in for the 2.5L I4.....i would double check that

Well the 3" spacers were from fat bobs garage, and the 2" to 3 1/2" adjustable shackles are from teraflex, and let me say they are some seriously heavy duty shackles! Yeah I have replaced the shocks over did it actually got them too big since I also used BPE's. As for the transmission its a 5-speed (prefer it when off roading to an automatic, but prefer an automatic on road weird I know)! any suggestions for brand of 31's I should get? Thanks for all the help also by the way!

Also how necessary is it to replace the track bar since i'm doing a 4.5" lift to the front? And I already have Rusty's Adjustable LCA's for the 3" I already have would I need To replace these with bigger ones? and do I need to replace the UCA's? I looked at their 4.5" lift kit items and it does not have them included on it so not sure if they were just being cheap or if they are not needed when doing this lift. I just want to make sure that I am doing this right. I will be posting pics of the install of this lift once all my parts get in.
Items I have ordered;
All from rusty's
4.5" coils
3.5" leaf packs (combining these with my shackles at the 2" lift level for a total of 5.5" of lift)
grade 8 U bolts and plates
brake extention kit
6 deg shims
1" transfer case drop
Anything else I'll need for this build?
my shocks I already know will be good because I keep bottoming out when just driving normally.

so if you would use bar pins you would get shocks for a 3" lift, if you use bar pin eliminators you will get shocks for a two inch lift depending on how many inchs the bar pin eliminators add to the lenth of the shocks.

well got a rusty's air tube with K&N Filter!
I'm going to remove the gold pin striping it is craked and just looks like c*** so it'll be going. Also looking at some RC Quick Discos. I got rid of the rear sway bar to allow better flex in the rear! Well if any one can answer some of my questions on the upper and lower control arms and the track bar it would be helpful. Still taking suggestions on the 31x10.50 tires also!

you will want to replace your trackbar, i've heard you should avoid rustys go with RE or RC
then for ur LCA's i might think about picking up some drop brackets from RC
