Default 86 Build

Alright so I figured I'd start this thread since i am about to begin some mods.

Alright so where it is at right now...
It's a 1986 cherokee laredo, 3" front spacers, 3 1/2" rear adjustable shackles, Rusty's LCA's the standard D 30 front and D 35 rear axles. All carpet and trim has been ripped out and replaced by some great herculiner. Logans Metals Front and rear bumpers, with an XRC8 winch. and some cheap off road lights off ebay. all this on stock wheels.

Now the future mods...
Rusty's 4.5" coils, 3.5" leaf packs
1" transfercase drop
brakeline extention kit
new UCA's and LCA's
track bar,
quick dicos
15x8 w/ 3.75 bs
31x10.5 not sure what type yet?

any here's a pic of it now.

Well I guess thats true! So am I forgetting anything important for once I get the coils and leaf springs on? I already have 6deg shims and longer grade 8 ubolts coming as well as a 1" transfer case drop coming, to correct drive line angles any thing else I'll need up front? I'm planing on replacing the spacers with the coils and then taking the shackles down to 2" so i'll have 4.5" of lift up front and 5.5" of lift in the back. Any comments on this or any thing I should do differantly?

All the 2.5 and 2.8L XJs had 4.10 ratio gears in the differentials. So since yours is original it has that ratio, which is a sought after ratio for 31" tires.

You said you wanted to put a V8 in. That is a lot of work and you will need to replace the tranny and do some cross member work as well as convert to the 4.0L front sheet metal and radiator. The best thing to do is to stick with your current tranny and get the 3.4L Chevy out of a camaro. They are good for up to 160 hp and have after market support like all Chevy engines and can be taken up higher. It will be a bolt in. You might want a 2 or 3 core radiator though

I was in the middle of my lift when I realized the steering was just not going to cut it. The WJ conversion was just getting popular and I didn't know about it and did not have access to the parts in local wrecking yards. So I bought it. Not sorry I did. The tie rod and drag link can be used up or down on all of it. Very versatile.
