Default 83 Jeep Wagoneer Diesel!??

So I have a 1983 Jeep Wagoneer Limited with a 5.9L V8 Gas engine right now. I wanna make a 1999 24v Cummins turbo diesel work in it. Replace front and rear ends with 3/4 ton front / rear ends. Of course springs and shocks. I've seen very little information on the internet about it. But I figure this right needs a overhaul either way so.... What do you all think?

That would be a nice swap but get a donor truck youll have every thing you need and i would stiffen the frame some more

The FSJs seem to have a tough frame as it is, I know a few people who have used them as snow removal vehicles with plows for 20+ years and they are still straight. Beef up the engine mount area, keep in mind a 6BT weighs something like 1300lbs.

Yah that 24v Cummins turbo diesel idea maybe a little over kill. But I sure would love to pull my 360 out and replace it with torque! I would also loose the 3speed auto tranny for a 5speed manual. my woody is a friggin tank and I love it to death but I can't do 6 miles to the gallon if I'm lucky! I was forced to retire it to my driveway as yard art and buy a Xj because with gas being 3.50$ a gallon here. It cost me 100$ to fill up and you can watch the fuel gauge just drop in that pig. I've seen some 4BT cummins diesel engines just have no idea what something like that would cost.
