600$ Country Edition
Ok so heres the deal, I came across this jeep when I was working, and ended up talking to the guy and asking outta curiousity if he was interested in parting it out. Ended up telling me he just wanted to get rid of it. Came the next day and picked it up for 600 bucks not bad but needs quite a bit of work. The rear axel is blown(the diff was welded and held together apparently for two years) and the interior is horrible and the passenger side fender and frame is banged up. Its been sitting for 2 years like that. He even threw in 2 half decent 33's to replace the front tires, and a old complete 8.25 axle that I'm picking up today. And its got a 1 ton steering kit.
Its a 1997 Country edition 4x4.
Not sure about the lift but the back end is sitting around 4.5'' and the front around 4''
The PO had some weird setup in the back too and put airbags on the leafs to keep the hight when it was loaded down.
Can't wait to get this thing fixed and going. Gonna to be selling my other jeep to fix this one up.

Cleaned up the jeep, replaced the tire, changed the oil and started changing out the fender and took a look at the blown axle. Does anyone know if i can just buy a locker instead of swapping the axle? My guess is the spyder gears blew up, but my ring and pinion still look ok.

cool looking jeep. well, spider gears are toasted, and instead of spending the time, money, and effort to replace them, I personally would install a locker. Essentially same work being done, and getting an upgrade.
How bad s that ding on the bottom of your carrier?

Replaced the spyder gears with ones from the free 8.25'' i got. Seems to work fine and I replaced the fender. Pic of the new fender soon.
