best sound i've gotten for cheap is with a $20 glass pack and no cat then a 2" pipe dumping it out the side....total exhaust "system" cost me like $30

Where did you get your glasspak for $20? That is just the price I'm aiming for, and would jump all over that if I could.

I do have some concerns, though. A catless glasspak'd exhaust has the potential to be quite loud and obnoxious. I don't need that, I'd rather be completely silent than overly loud.

I want a nice low tone, with maybe an aggressive rasp when throttle gets opened up.

I have a completely uncorked sportbike when I wanna be loud. You can hear me from about a mile away.

I got my Thrush from advanced for $19 and bolted it in place of my original muffler on my 1990 after the muffler fell out, had to cut a couple inches off the tail pipe becaue the new muffler was longer than the old one, but it took all of about 30 min.

i just put a new exhaust on mine since the place we go offroading is private property i made it quiet with a chery bomb glasspack 20 from autozone and used my stock tail pipe sounds good and is alot quieter than sttraight piped
now when all my friends make fun of me for quiet exhaust i can laugh when they get arrested cause their trucks are to loud and get caught

Nice deal for $500.00. I was lucky enough to get my jeep for the same amount as you..You can't beat these old cherokee for the money.

heck yeah man they are beast i went muding the other day with some truck (they are jeep haters) they were on like 33's and 35's and they couldn't go half the places i went i was like haha "only in jeep"

If possible just use an iPod or similar.

The one I use also has an AM/FM tuner so I don't lose the local stations if I wanna listen to them.

yeah i ended up getting a tip from pull a part for $1.90 and welding the hole in the stock back pipe and throwing a $20 glasspack under there i like how it sounds now not to loud but loud enough
oh btw i painted the tip black
