How do you like that 1 piece oil pan gasket?
I know you haven't run the motor yet, but any trouble with fittment that you can see?
I have to replace mine, and I want to know if this is a better option than the OEM 4 piece gasket set.

The one piece gasket is a hell of a lot better than the four piece one I would have killed some one as it was a pain in the *** with the one piece one!!!

First you have to snake the pan out and then get it back in, I has to drop the drag link at the pitman arm to get my pan out and that was with the tires off the ground, front end at about a 10" lift.

Then once you get the pan back in there you have to fish the gasket in place by flicking it up and under the oil pump then you can use your fingers to put it in place (be careful at the rear that you get the gasket in the little grove on the rear main bearing cap). Other than that yea I like the one piece gasket. :-)

Thanks, I'm gonna try that.
I've already got about 10 -12 inches of clearance from my axel to my pan, so starter, and steering stabilizer will need to be removed, but I should be good. I'll let you know how it goes when I do it this weekend.

I had about 20inches the axle to pan clearance it still isn't fun snaking that oil pan in and out you will need to put the front end up pretty damn high to clear everything

If u have a good sized floor jack and some nice sized jack stands you can unbolt the shocks and the say bar links at the axle and just let the axle sit on the ground.

I would jack jeep up first then put the jeep on the jack stands and then I would put the floor jack under the axle for support and unbolt the shocks at the axle and same with sway links and then just lower the axle down with the floor jack. The axle shouldn't move around crazy because the control arms will still be connected...

Just a thought, but you will have to disconnect steering stabilizer or the tie rod at the pitman arm to even begin to get the pan down. No way around that

That's actually not a bad idea, disconnecting the shocks, and swaybar.
I've got quick disco's already so that'll be a snap at least.
And it'll give me the excuse I need to redo ALL of the steering stuff anyway.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the advice.

I got the axle and transfercase for my friend I just need to go back to the junkyard because they changed the head bolts from 6 to 12 point bolts and I didn't bring my 12 point sockets because the head bolts on my motor are 6 point
