4 liter dezert beater
I bought a 94 cherokee and decided to start a build thread. The longterm plans for the jeep are gonna be a hybrid interior/exterior cage, custom alcan leafsprings, pac racing coils and a decent 2.5" shock.
The last week has pretty much just been maintenance and getting the jeep ready for smog.
the jeep was in pretry rough shape when I got it but it was perfect for what I am going to use it for.
Old vs new air filter
The jeep was running a little rough when I got it so I put new plugs, wires, cap and rotor on and also changed the oil. it runs really good for having 250,xxx on it.
I also flushed the radiator and this is what the fluid that came out looked like.
I also had to put a new catalytic converter on it to pass smog.
I got some 32x11.5x15 falken wildpeaks, put a 2" budget boost on the jeep and trimmed the fenders.
The stock motor mounts looked like they were falling apart so I picked up some brown dog motor mounts.
Also whipped up a quick rear tube bumper.

I made my own seat mounts. I just used 1.75"x .120 wall tube and put some plates on the floor to help distribute the load. It doesn't look like i have any pictures of the ones I just built but here's a picture of my last jeep with the same set up. my current jeep just has the 2 tubes going from the trans tunnel until I cage it.
I started to get a knocking on the driver side floor board while driving around 60 mph so I got under the jeep and checking for any suspensions parts that seemed worn out. It turns out the frame side joint on the track bar was shot so i went ahead and replaced that.
the threads were messed up on the plate with the nut in it so I made a new bracket and welded a nut on it.
To make getting in and out with the bucket seats I went ahead and installed a momo steering wheel with a quick disconnect.
I installed a rear amber light and made a light bar for the front bumber.
