4.5 lift kit help
Hey guys what's up, I wanna start by saying I'm not the most technical guy here and im not afraid to ask for help. That being said, this is is my first xj build and I need some questions answered. I want to put a 4.5" lift on it and I need to know what I need, control arms, brake line extenders ect, I don't know. Some of you have done this a few times and I'd appreciate some help. I want to turn all my own wrenches and do this myself, I don't like taking my stuff to a garage. Thanks

In addition to the kit you chose:
Extened brake lines
Shocks
Front Swaybar disconnects (Simple remove the rear swaybar, it's not needed.)
You might need a Slip Yoke Eliminator as well

These guys are right, depending on the kit, it may come with shocks, but disconnects and extended brake lines are a must.
I would also recomend an adjustible trac-bar, and a frame brace for the power steering box. As you use it, these parts stock will wear out/break very rapidly.
They suggest a Slip yoke Eiliminator(SYE) but it may not be nescesary. Is a good idea though, but don't fret, they get expensive and it will go back together without them, just may be some vibration. If you chose to use an SYE, a longer drive shaft will also be recomended.
I run the RC 4.5" lift on mine, and utilize everything mentioned above, execpt an SYE, but added drop brakets for the control arms.... my build thread is referenced in my signature if you want to check it out....
The lift is just the begining. The important thing is getting back together and safe. The extras, like SYE, or adjustible control arms, can always come later. and trust me, they will.
