Now comes the part on why I chose the joints that I did. They are not the cheapest, but I thought they were the best because of ease of rebuilding and adjusting. One of my spherical rod ends had become dry from being in mud and water while wheeling. It was beginning to rattle slightly when hitting stuff. So, it was time to grease and adjust it. The first thing was to take it loose. You can see it looks dry.
Second, remove a small allen screw that keeps the halves from unscrewing.
Parts Mike has a special spanner that fits a half inch drive ratchet that they threw in for no extra charge when I bought my joints. A plethora of bovine manure never hurts.
Fit the spanner in the holes on the side and then turn the ratchet clockwise, without having to remove the arm or use any presses or snap ring pliers.
Insert the allen screw, grease and bolt it back up. A little extra cash paid off in time and lack of frustration.

No, I don't lick fish.
I'm in complete awe of your degree of inginuity. I've subscribed to this thread and I also sent you a pm about your a/c OBA side by side setup... though now that I've read this thread, I don't think it will work on the 4.0L xjs

It will work on almost any engine as long as the belt length does not go over 120". You would just put the compressor next to the alternator or use YJ/TJ brackets to start with and an electric fan such as the Taurus fan.

So you have to change the fan setup to run the two compressors? I have the stocker engine driven fan and the stocker electric fan - won't work, huh?

No, you should be able to run the stock fan. It will just be more difficult to fabricate the bracket, that is to get it lined up properly

Gotcha. I have GOT to get a welder. Friend of mine is moving away and says he's leaving me with two, but I won't hold my breath.

Okay, I grew up fabricating everything I could, since money was something we didn't always have a lot of, and I am just amazed at your craftsmanship, to say the least! My father has been a master fabricator for close to 50 years, which after I showed him your work, he, too, was amazed with your work and planning. Nice job.

Hey man, thanks. I'm in NorCal. Not close to Ely, but I can say I have been there. More to come when my personal economy gets better.

kinda curious what kind of mpgs your seeing? and tire size and gears to go along with it? I'm thinking of doing this swap or an LS series swap. Price and mpg will be the deciding factors.
