2001 XJ 2" Rusty's BB, Rubicon Moab Wheels
This past weekend I installed a Rusty's 2" Budget Boost Lift (Spacers & Shackles) and installed my Rubicon Moab 16" Wheels with Goodyear MTR 245/75/16 tires. Overall the lift was very simple, however one of the shackle bolts was seized inside of the bushing in the leaf spring. Getting that bolt out alone took longer than the whole lift. I also used Strut Spring Compressors when doing the front. This allowed me to avoid unbolting the Control Arms or Track Bar, and really sped up the process.
In addition to the lift I did an injector upgrade. I ordered rebuilt neon injectors from fuelinjectorconnection.com, and there seems to be a considerable power gain. There is a huge increase in throttle response. The verdict on improved MPG's is still out, but I'm hoping for a 2-3 MPG increase.

thanks guys
I've been meaning to update this build page. I've added a lot of new stuff over the past six months and I've taken pics along the way. I recently finished a ZJ disc break conversion, I also switched the rear suspension to Old Man Emu heavy duty full leaf packs. That made a huge difference in ride quality, handling, and flexibility. I've also added a Yakima megawarrior rack, with a spare tire mount since my spare no longer fits in the stock location. I just ordered some Rampage H4 Headlights, and the upgraded wiring harness. Can't wait!

I just bought some 1.25" spacer/adapters off ebay to change the bolt pattern. It has a 3" RC lift and 245/65/17's were the biggest I could fit without rubbing. I think when these tires wear out I will get some 16" Moabs with 31's on it.

Question about Driveability
Hey Burgy,
I have a 98 XJ - same color as yours. How does your XJ drive with the Rusty's installed? Any issues with tire rubbing or transfer case vibes?
Attached is my 98 up in the Yukon.
Cheers, Michael
