2000 XJ Project "Silverback"

I finally decided to start my build thread! I picked up my 2000 Jeep Cherokee (automatic) back around March of 2013 for $2800 with around 120,000 miles. It was completely stock when I got it.

This is what she looked like after I waxed her for the first time.

A week or so after I got her my friend and I decided to go wheeling for the first time with our XJs!

I ended up getting stuck and overheated the engine ops!

Some of the first few things I did was remove the stupid bumper caps, angry eyes (don't hate I like it), and install Pontiac Grand Prix hood vents.

The previous owners never told me the XJ was in some sort of accident

Or that it had a huge rust hole

So until I cut off the rear 1/4 panels the rear bumper caps are staying on

Making the first cut was the hardest part

But with my fathers help, we did it!

All finished up! We used little brackets and screw to hold the vents in place

I got a set of 31" All Terrain Kumho tires (got a real good deal so I can't complain).

My dad and I went with our local club (Erie Jeep People) to the annual Cornfield 500. It was a great time, I plan on running in it next year!

Got a used Rubicon 3.5" lift for $300! It just needed a little cleaning up.
