I wanted to start this tread so that 6 months from now I dont say to myself "Self, I should have logged the build process for this Jeep"

Im new to Jeep building but not totally ignorant to getting my hands grease.

My younger brother bought a 99 Cherokee to have a little family fun in Moab and it sounded like fun and Ill take any chance to spend more time with my Bro I can get so I bought one also.

These are the photos of my 2000 Jeep Cherokee before I do anything to it.


























At this point all I have done is clean it up and put a muffler on it.

I picked this up for $1200

It came with:

4.5" Rubicon full lift kit
Dana 30 in front
Chrysler 8.25 in rear
No muffler
leaky valve cover gasket
Bad air bag clock spring
broken rear shock


This is my list of what I plan on doing with it:

1. New shocks all the way around (Pro Comp) (Done: cost $141)
2. Muffler (Done: cost $75)
3. Gasket kit for valve cover (Done: cost $25)
4. Oil Change (Done: cost $25)
5. New plugs and wires (Done: cost $$37)
6. Tires (Getting stock Rubicon rims and tires) (Done: Cost $300 set of 4 with 9k miles and adapter plates for $135)
7. Bumpers
a. Front
b. Rear
8. Rock Slides
9. Long Arm kit
10.Rear Locker


If any of you have any advice and or suggestions PLEASE post up and help me out.

shouldnt have gone with those shocks on that nice RE lift. I would've splurged and gotten some nice bilsteins
also shoulda gotten some real MT tires and rims
rock sliders for sure!
I wouldnt worry about LA's just yet
do a front bumper and winch if you think you'll need it
and a rear locker if you dont plan on regearing
call it a day and go wheel it hard and find out what else you want to upgrade.
that's a great buy for only $2000 btw. cant wait to see some moab pics
