2000 xj
Hey guys,
Finally getting to work on my XJ. I just ordered up some stuff from Todd at Rough country. (who was awesome BTW, definitely give them a call if you have any questions) I have some soft 8's and Destinations MT's waiting to go on with my lift. So far i've installed a flowmaster 40 that turns down before the rear axle and spent some time getting familiar with everything under the hood. I'll be posting pics and updates as they progress. :worthless: lol

If you need anything else from Rough Country, get ahold of GRIMUSXJ (Jason) here on the forum. He gets us XJ brothers HUGE discounts.

I was going to mention Grimus as well as Jeffery. If you call RC and ask for extension #123 then Jeffery. I got 10% off my entire lift kit

Ahh no worries Todd was great! i'll take some before and after pictures before the install next weekend

In the middle of my lift right now and having one hell of a time. The front is almost done but i can't get the lca's or track bar to line up. The worst part is i can't get any of the spring I bolts out. 2 of them started to come out but now wont move, i've tried an impact, torch and a ton of pb blaster but they wont move. Anyone have any recommendations?

I finally got everything done. I can't believe how rusty some of the parts were, the lift took MUCH longer then expected and i actually couldn't finish it with the tools in my shop. A word of caution to anyone who's planning on lifting there xj, if you're from a region that uses road salt in the winter this lift took me 14+ hours and a suspension shop another 6. Absolutely nothing went right and almost every bolt broke or sheared off during the removal.
Enough complaining here are the pics Before http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../jeepstock.jpg Just one annoying example of how the rust effected last weeked. Both front endlinks actually did this. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ayx7/004-2.jpg After http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ayx7/008-1.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ndayx7/033.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ndayx7/027.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ndayx7/018.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ndayx7/024.jpg My reason for buying another Jeep, it was always blowing up but it was a blast to drive http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...x7/subaru1.jpg |
On a side note my rear o2 sensor wires came out of the sensor so i bought a replacement. I tried taking the factory one out with a o2 sensor wrench but it was rusted in place and ended up getting rounded off. I don't mind the cel but will not having the rear o2 sensor hooked up affect anything? gas mileage? performance?

anyone?
|
no it will not because all it does is verify the cat is doing its job its not relied on for setting the fuel trim and stuff...
|
Nice to see another import driver move over to an XJ. I had one aswell except mine didn't keep blowing up just kept getting stolen lol.
