A 2 Door XJ for Show
5 Attachment(s)
OK, so I work with some companies in the automotive aftermarket and thought that some of you would like to see a XJ being built from the ground up. (They are actually building a couple of these, so I will try and get info on the other one as well.) One is supposed to be a show vehicle, the other a trail vehicle.
So, here is the beauty we are starting with, an $800 Jeep picked from Connecticut (body's got to be in good shape!!!) 1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ 2 Door 4.0l Engine 5 Speed Manual Transmission NP 231 Transfercase Corporate 8.25" Rear End Attachment 147532 Attachment 147533 Attachment 147534 Attachment 147535 Attachment 147536 |
So, who are you? Who are these companies? Why are they building it?
I'm confused. Good luck? |

My name is Jeff, I am in my early 40's and I have been working and playing in the off road industry my entire life. I have been wheeling Jeeps for 25 years.
I know the owner of these Jeeps and since he has stripped this one to the bone, and since we have been taking photo's of the process, I thought it would be cool to show you guys the project. Kind of hard to believe, but this particular Jeep is supposed to be going to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas in less than 30 days. |
Oh, forgot to mention, you asked what company. The gentlemen that owns this Jeep is the owner of a company called Race Car Dynamics, they manufacture RCD Suspension Systems.

Post some pics! You know we want pics. C'mon!
|
Yeah definitely keep up on this! I'm subscribed. Can't wait to see what's done

I know, I know, more pic's! I will be getting more as I can, unfortunately this is not the only thing I have to do. Also, every picture that I am getting to work with are to large so I have to re-size them. I will have to get them to change some of thier camera settings.

OK, so this thing is being completely stripped, floor repaired, and going off to paint. (i will have some pictures of that later)
Here is the concept on this thing (see rendering). Keep in mind, it is a rendering and I know some things will change as the project goes and fabrication allows, but at least it is a look that they are going for. The basics: For now, stock drivetrain. (future upgrades are planned, axles, gears, lockers, etc., but that looks to later in the year) 6" RCD Suspension Long Arm Kit Bilstein 5160 Series Reservoir Shocks 35" BFG Mud Terrains on 18" Method Racing Wheels K & N Cold Air Intake Magna Flow Stainless Exhaust RCD Bumpers, Roof Rack, and Rocker Panels Custom Upholstered Seats, and interior makeover Webasto Sun Roof Mile Marker Winch Vision X Lights Odyssey Batteries Lot's of goodies from Crown, Quadratec, and Daystar are also planned. I am sure there will be more as it goes on. |
Is the purple supposed to actually be black? Or will it really have purple tires and what not? Lol
|
No on the purple, it will be black. On these types of renderings, if you use black, you cant see any defenitions or lines on the parts.
