The 4-55 does work great, but we plan on bringing the dogs, don't want them flying out lol. Even tied up I feel like they'd dive out.

Had a RockAuto $25 credit that was going to expire soon, so I used them for some extended brake lines. ACDELCO18J2676 - Driver Side- 5"+ longer than stockACDELCO18J2677 - Passenger side- 5"+ longer than stockDORMANH622067 - Rear - 4" longer than stock, already have 3" brackets for a total of 7" extension in the rear.
I plan on revamping the suspension by the end of June, as I graduate from school middle of May. The girlfriend and I are planning an week long east coast trip and considering taking the Jeep to all sorts of national parks.

While I have a ZJ and not a XJ they share the same front ends so I'd assume calipers would be pretty close or exactly the same.I did no grinding on mine... just used to crush washers and snugged it down. Work great. Modded the bracket so it would bolt up to the body and called it done.

My girlfriend's XJ engine is ticking strong at 220k, but the transmission grinds in first gear, it has for about a year now, not worth rebuilding or swapping a new trans in, both front floor pans are gone, rockers are nonexistent, dana 30 has a pinion seal leak, hodge podge cheap lift parts, it's going to be driven until it dies, but once it dies we are looking at getting her a nice two door to daily and not molest and chop up. Pictures may fool you, it's a Heep. Don't tell her I said that, though. To be fair, we only expected it to last a year before it died. Needed something for $1500 and it fit the bill. Three years later she still won't die. (The jeep, not the girlfriend...)

Okay, have to recover funds for suspension overhaul.... Introducing the Smittybilt Overlanding RTT, this thing is amazing! Sets up in 5 minutes sleeps people comfortably, it's about 80" long and 50" wide. Got it for a decent deal from a guy off Facebook Marketplace.

looks like it doesn't take up that much room on top.
How is it when you open the hatch? push up on it at all, or just rests against it?

The position of the tent is temporary, the access and ladder should be sitting on the side of the jeep and not the hatch but my roof rack is too wide and will require a crossbar of some sort, so for now the only way it fit is backwards.
Its about a foot above the roof rack, it isn't too terrible on the freeway but you can definitely notice it if you're trying to pass someone.

I really love the way this build has gone.
Your doing some really cool stuff.
This and a few others like 4bangerdanger make me smile.

Hey man thanks for that, I'm glad you enjoy it just as much as I do! Hopefully I have this jeep many years down the road, I have so many plans for it with no time and money at the moment, hopefully that changes in the next year.
