Default 1999 Stone White Jeep XJ

Whoops!

Picked up my 3rd Jeep the other day.

1999 Stone White Jeep XJ Sport. Bone Stock.
173,000 miles
AW4 2WD with a Chrysler 8.25" rear end.

Will post some updates here later.

Someone changed the oil pan gasket with a nice Fel-PRO gasket, no leaks down here!

Changed out the front sway bar bushings, handles much better on the road!

Inside the valve cover looks like oil changes were kept up on-time.

Fixed the tailgate rattle with a new set of bushings and new hatch seal from teamcherokee.com

Changed out all 4 shocks with SACHS brand ones.

Rides really smooth, almost like a new car.

Removed the rear diff cover and refilled it with 75W-90 Gear oil.

Everything looked nice down there.

The Passenger wheel bearing was making noise on the highway, so I replaced both front units with MOOG hub units. They seemed to be factory.

Also installed new Bosch quietcast brake rotors and ceramic Bosch brake pads.

Installed 6 new NGK 3459 Spark plugs.

Runs much smoother!

Also checked out the engine bore with a endoscope camera, Cross hatching looks good, and the pistons are surprisingly clean for 174k miles.

A/C condenser had a small leak, so I swapped that out, pulled a vacuum for 2 hours and recharged with 20oz of R-134a

Went ahead and replaced all other o-ring since the system was opened.

Changed the dryer too.

Installed 12 Hole rebuilt Bosch injectors yesterday.

Picked them up from KSuspension, the customer service was top notch and answered every question I had. Highly recommended.

https://www.ksuspensionfab.com/store...Injectors.html

Seems to start up smoother, idle smooth, and run overall better.

I can't tell if this is due to the 12 hole design & rebuilt clean injectors (VS 19 year old 175k mile injectors)

Decided to install a full-flow transmission filter between the cooler lines for my AW4. Works Great!

175,800 miles, and 19 years later the factory IAC motor died.

Replaced it and she runs so much smoother!

Went for a drive out in the country side and also picked up a spare 4.0 block to rebuild for fun.

Only $80!
