Read anything on this forum and it will help you. There is a lot of knowledge on these pages. That's my advice. Nice to see a fan of FOOSE!

lift is in a day early!! tobad i cant be home to work on it

SteelBlue99 12-08-2010 11:18 AM

Well, best advice i can give is be patient. I installed my IRO long arm lift in a small garage by myself, with basic tools. Took a while, because i was only able to work on it a little at a time. But i took my time, and made sure everything was done right. One thing i do suggest, since you're in Maine is soak EVERY nut and bolt with PB blaster once a night, for a few days before you start removing bolts. Good luck!

alright so im uploading pics to my computer as fast as i can, i do not have many but there is a real reason

I DRIVE A MAINE JEEP :(

from the time we strted teardown the old girl haas been fighting us the whole way. My dad and i are no service garage but we have all hand tools you would expect to use doing this. im still hitting bolts and buts with the PB everyday but nothing is working, tomorow i am buying an electric impact since we dont haave the compressor big enough to handle a pneum. impact. we got the shocks and the springs out and the swaybar disconected and i have installed the new UCA's but we worked for 5 hrs with no budge on the LCA bolts any remedys?

I used an electric impact wrench for the LCA bolts. Also, try to get to them from the inside. I tried from the outside for a long time, before i tried from the inside, and it worked.

my advice is PB blast everything and buy a case of beer for a buddy with a welder to help you out haha. i ended up doing BPEs on my rear shocks on my 3rd lift when i went up to 8.5" broke all 4 bolts on the 3 year old shocks so we welded on the BPEs. good as new.

also ive got some pics in my build thread doing my long arms, steering, etc.

Any idea if that's for just 97's? I've got some issues with mine, but it's a 99.

im not sure, youd have to check online, thats how i found out about mine and its good for the life of the vehicle

JTS22XJ 12-28-2010 08:01 AM

hey guys, sorry its been awhile
I have pics of new headliner, i redid it in camo!!

but quick question, I have no heat what so ever, no matter how long i leave it running it never gets as warm as they should.

what could the problem be?

it will get semi warm but not enough to heat the cab. my dads xj almost warms up instantly, and all my old xjs did too. i didnt really think much of it at first but i do live in new england and its about -10 with the wind chill so please somone help!!! i bought a new thermostat -not installed yet, and i belive the elctric fan has sh** the bed but i wasnt sure if that had anything to do with it.. let me know asap.....

n_a_i_w 12-28-2010 10:01 PM

Awsome to see you got your lift in! Hope its working out for you. Keep me posted on how it handles. Curious to see what other people think.

JTS22XJ 01-03-2011 11:30 PM

it handles great, cannot wait to get the long arm upgrade already haha, but i have a nasty vibration around 30 mph but nothing above or below, even after an SYE install and new TW driveshaft put in... i bought shims for it, but havent installed them. I am currently haveing trouble with the speedo gear not reading and ODOMETER not worrking..

any else have a leak from the TC after an SYE install, i did it by the book, no grinding no noises, but its leaking right from the output yoke i belive

HELP!!!!!
