Default 1997 white jeep cherokee sport 4x4 4dr build

Im new to the forum, so i just thought that I would create this thread. I hope yall could give me feedback on the upgrades that I do, as I do them.

You should give us a starting photo so we can see where You are starting from. Welcome to the forum! Mine is a white 97 xj too.

Here's mine. It used to have black molding but I took it off and bedlined the rockers. It'll d lifted Saturday!

I got them that way so I'm not sure how they did it, BUT if I was to do it myself I would:

Use index cards instead of newspaper to tape 'em off.
Clean with acetone (wear gloves!)
Sand good
Light coat of primer
Good coat of primer (then maybe another)
wet sand
paint
wet sand
paint
wet sand
paint

Then decide if I want to clear coat it.

Oh and I like the rack! I'm probably going to build the same way you did! What are the rectangular steel pieces called? I've tried looking for them, but I never know what to ask for since.

Default roof rack parts

Yea it was really easy to build I bought everything to build it atLlowes. They are called strong tie,s used for like building decks i think, they can be found in the hardware section at lowes or home depot

how did you mount the rack to the jeep and what are you using for the floor of it? seems like a pretty cool way to build a rack. how much did it cost? It would be cool if you got some better pics of it on.
