I made a thread about it in another section of the forum, but that sounds like a stuck thermostat, right? Also wondering what temperature thermostat is best for cold weather. Local autozone sells 195/180/160 degree versions.
You should be able to determine if it's a stuck open thermostat very easily by monitoring the temp of the upper radiator hose. Start the cold engine and keep your hand on the upper hose while the motor warms up. It should stay cold for several minutes, maybe even 5 minutes (maybe longer depending on how cold it is in Alaska!) and then it will get hot very fast because the thermostat has opened.

Get a Stant Superstat if you need a replacement

Gonna do some winterization this weekend. Got a new thermostat, block heater, battery blanket and oil pan heater. Gonna do an oil change with Rotella T6 5w-40 thats supposed to be a pretty good cold weather oil. Its already snowed up here a few times and the jeep isn't ready..

Waved goodbye to the Jeep today. Listed it last night on FB marketplace and sold it this morning for full asking price. I should have asked for more. There was a ton of interest in it. Sad to see it go, but it just wasn't what I need for a daily anymore.

Holy crap that was fast! Loved the Jeep, but I'm sure you'll miss it soon and build another one...
