dude you move way too fast, im sure your parents are probably hassleing you to get rid of it but its not unheard of for those motors to go way past 400,000 miles you should of really just stuck to getting it going than worry bout the rest later. as far as the scrap yard goes you could likely sold parts off of it and at the very least gotten youre money back and probably made a profit. slow down on youre next project tackle one goal at a time, like make it safe first(brakes, lights etc) than running condition, than looks and so on. take youre time. Maybe on the next project make a list and figure out the order you wanna do it in and stick to it, anyways sorry im rambling ive been up for about 30 hours good luck.
id like to add ,after reading youre post again i see you didnt get much help from the guys here on the forum on what to check to get it running, let me suggest that next time when you have motor problems you start a new post that states the problem in the title so the gurus(certainly not me) see the title and are more likely to read youre post and offer you help. the fake snake thing just probably came across as another build thread. it didnt indicate you were having issues. hope this helps you in the future, again good luck.....ken

i would look for one in better shape than the 96 you bought. you might have to pay more for it, but you will save headaches and more importantly money in the long run. then you can spend money on upgrades instead of repairs. i would look for one thats completely stock never been lifted or anything that way you know it was never been driven to hell and back.
Dnuccio, I am going to try to find a nice '99 or '00 with under 150k miles. I actually have more money to shop around with this time, so I can get something nice.

Interesting build. I have an 86. I'm a fan but 84-86 models have a lot of unique differences you may encounter. I've learned about it all here.
