Default 1992 XJ- Green Lantern..

So I dont have alot of pictures nor mods right now because I'm about to go into Firefighting/EMT classes. Taking up alot of my time as well as other things, but here's what I have so far.

Its a 1992 XJ Laredo with the 242 Transfer Case( 2HI, 4PT, 4FT, N, 4LO). This is when I took in the delivery.

Took it trailing after I did the removable door mod for those hot Alabama July days (no A/C)...

Then started to overheat on me constantly and steering was nonexistant and here were the problems..

Then took out the mildewed carpet and miles of random wires..

Have noticed alot of shuddering and croaks in the front axle, Opened up the inspection plate to find..Might have as well been sand packed in there..

Both projects (Tacoma is my DD and tow truck)

After August 24ths Rockcrawl event (or possibly before) I'll be installing Aussie lockers and ZJ rotors/brake calipers.

I'll be keeping up with this thread so keep looking for it!

Thanks!

Thank you! Toyota 175,000 miles and running as strong as it did from the factory. and the Jeep definitely a starting point haha.

My plans are to eventually make it a full crawler.. Something along the lines of this:

So today I disassembled the front axle. Lets just leave the story to the pictures...

Chrome diff cover will get you home

Passenger Side problems.

Axle shaft.

So basically there was no fluid on the passenger side of the axle and to replace it is caked mud with no axle shaft bearing or seals.

Driver side.

Heres inside the axle and other things.

At least the pumpkin was clean and grit free.

More pictures of the Jeep itself.

BTW, anyone know what this is for?
