1992 XJ

1992 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 automatic 2.5 or 3' lift. 212000 miles and no rust. Can't tell what brand they are put the front has spacer and the rear has blocks. I'll take pics and see if anybody can recognize them. I live in north carolina and found the jeep in Hampton Virginia in craigslist. I drove up there and bought it. On the way back the fuel pump gasket leaked and had to get it fixed. Then when I got it home, it wouldn't start. So I needed a new starter. Then coolant gauge was missing but I found one on the junk yard. I ended up paying 600 so I can't complain. The engine is tired so I'm looking to replace it or rebuild it. I want this to be a daily driver with trail riding capability.

The bumper

The bumper was from a friend that sold it to me for 80 dollars. It was involved in a roll over but nothing a hammer torch and grinder and paint can't fix. Hopefully it won't be that bad

Not a bad 600 dollar jeep! But you definitely want to get rid of the blocks. Good luck, and have fun!

limited budget

I have a limited budget for the build. What suspension do you recommend using?

ARB bumper for $80? I hate you. Seriously. :D

Nice looking jeep for $600, very clean. Are those Wet Okle seat covers? What the hell, man, those seat covers cost half as much as your Jeep (and the bumper cost more)!

LOL

LOl the seat covers came free as well, one question though does anybody have a step by step thread on how to change the front clip from a 96 prior to a 97+? I like the way it looks. I know Spike TV (Trucks) had an episode on called Cheap Jeep where they did that to a Cherokee but they just showed the finished project. Another thing I want to do is put tj fenders on it. Cheap and looks clean if you do it right. Had them already installed when I bought my last jeep. Along with a homemade roof rack, EMT. But unfortunally I deploy soon, so we'll see how much I can actually get done.

Off roading

Took it off roading today and really surprised me how well it worked with such a small lift and no mods! Even though it was a light trail I figured it was a good chance to try out the 4x4
