1987 Jeep Cherokee build called Shaggy
 

I was looking through craigslist like I always do, and being 18 and not having a vehicle yet, I have always had a passion for cars and offroading but I never had the funds to do any of it. So I found this rare 1987 Jeep Cherokee two door 4x4. I purchased it for $350 with a clean title but obvious damage to the front. It needs a radiator and the grille support, grill, bumper etc. The person I bought it from converted the front end to a 99 so it uses the 99 fenders and grille and headlights and all that. The motor is running and pretty well too, it's the 4.0 I6 with an auto, it is also 4x4. I'm just looking for some suggestions on what I should do to it and also any tips or tricks on how to work on them and things I should look out for. I found all the front end parts I needed for a steal at $120 going to pick them up tomorrow , in changing it back to the older front end since I couldn't seem to find a 99 parts car in good enough condition

Welcome, looks like you have a great project ahead of you. I'm just getting started on a 98 4 door myself.

Looking to just do a basic trail, crawling jeep, and some mudding especially down here in Miami, First I need to get it into nice condition and then start upgrading, I need to find the wiring diagram to go through the wiring. The car does start up just want to make sure it's all good. I also wanted to ask about the ac, there's some line missing but the system is there, is it really worth it to get the Ac back up and running?

I also need some help, does anyone know if the grille and header panel and fenders and basically most front end parts from a 2001 cherokee will fit the 1987

Yes, just make sure you grab the brackets that connect from the fender to the header panel

Also, if you haven't already looked into bettering the renix system take a look at this website, helped on mine and many others on this forum
