1956 Willy's Pickup with 1993 XJ running gear

I'm on the home stretch of upgrading the running gear on my 1956 Willy's pickup. I used all of the suspension, axles, and everything I could possibly transfer from a 1993 Jeep Cherokee. I even used the wiring harness and a good portion of the dash.

The only thing I didn't use is the air conditioning system.

Now, here is the problem I'm currently working on.
1. The fuel pump relay chatters and doesn't hold in.
2. The fuel gauge doesn't work.

I read somewhere that the PCM start sequence needs the a/c system top get to ground.

I found the ground wire in the wire bundle to the transmission and jumpered it to ground. This fixed the fuel pump relay but the fuel gauge still does'nt work. The motor starts and runs great.

Does anyone have a complete wire diagram to help me chase down the problem?

First, welcome. Second.. where's the damn pics?! I'v thought of doing exactly this in a Wagon.

Google FSM for 93 Cherokee, might find a pdf link. Otherwise someone here might have a link for ya via PM. {posting a link on the forum is forbidden as it's a trademarked item}

Or you could easily get a CD on ebay.

Got a build thread anywhere? Love to check it out.

Just got a set of gauges so I can replace the idiot lights.

Got my order from Kaiser Willy's for all of the door and window seals.

Found a set of '703' injectors. A little cleaning and some new orings will be in order.

A local autoglass company cut all new safety glass for me for about half of what it was going to cost to order from Kiaser Willy's. Not only that but I got them the next day with no shipping charges. SCORE :)

Looks I'll be busy in the shop for a while.

NICE!

installed the '703's. Made a noticble difference in the idle. It smoothed out very nicely. It's great when you get the results that you hoped for. This is a real easy DYI project for anyone with the slightest inclination toward wrenching.
