Ok, finally got my lift on. I added/switched out (all parts thanks to Kolak!):

- OME 2.5" coil springs
- Bilstein 5100 shocks
- Coil isolators
- JSK adjustable track bar
- Steering stabilizer

Tires went from stock 235/65/17 to GY Duratrac 245/75/17

Coils added the 2.5", with everything measured at the bottom of the front and rear bumper it lift close to 4".

Here she is all stock:

Nice WJ!

Power73 07-25-2012 11:55 PM

looks good! imo it would look better with different wheels with different backspacing

JoseyW 07-26-2012 10:05 PM

Thanks AeroSynch.

Power73. You're right on the wheels, but I have to take baby steps to get approval from the misses.

Didn't take me long to add a basket for the spare.

First trip -- Mt Baldy, stopped at 11, 400. I tried using factory crossbars but they bounce/flex too much. Guess I'll go with Yakima crossbars.

Only small issue at full flex with the 245/75/17 there is a tiny bit of rubbing front and rear in the wheel well. Can be easily trimmed I'm guessing or maybe add an inch??

Nice WJ dude. I like seeing the WJs in the forums. They are far and few between. I custom building my WJ. Been working on mine for several months. Nice job man. I like it.

Thanks RichW. Seemed to work flawlessly today.

More lift wouldnt stop rubbing under flex. My WJ has 33in size tire with just trimming to bumpers tho it still rubs a little, extended bump stops will be the solution

I'm running 33x12.50s on my WJ but we did extensive cutting. Even cut the inner fender/unibody and refabbed it. I only have a two inch lift. You are correct about the bump stops though.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll look at bump stop extensions next.

It never ends, does it?

Looks sweet! How do you like those duratracs?

JoseyW 07-31-2012 10:45 PM

The trails were loose gravel, not very many large rocks to go over. The DuraTracs held very well in the loose stuff though.

How do you like the ride quailty of the 2.5 OME's paired up with the Bilsteins? Any shake or death wobble issues?

JoseyW 08-06-2012 10:28 PM

It definitely rides better than stock. Seems pretty smooth. Tracks straighter than it did as stock. I also replaced the steering stabilizer. Overall, I like it.
