I've been wanting to go to the cove, I went to AOP in April I believe it was and went to windrock the first weekend of May and I'm going back tomorrow. We definitely should get together and hit the trails sometime.

It's obviously down at the moment and it'll be down end of June/July for a cage, but should be good in between and after.

I have a friend that owns a fab shop and have already talked to him about an exo hybrid cage. I'll remove all the interior and he'll do two uprights and tie it into the exo.
There are some things that I'm ok letting other people do. I've known him a long time and have seen his work. I'm sure he'll do a great job.

Time is few and far between, but I got to work on the thing last week and some this weekend.
Got the transfer case installed, clocked in the only way that it won't have any contact with anything and got the shifters mounted and adjusted. Dropped off the drive shafts to get modified. They should be done this Friday. Hoping to have most everything else done, so I can do some wheeling this weekend. We'll see though.

Well Despite dealing with lyme disease this past weekend, I was able to do some work on the jeep and get the remaining details finished with the transfer case.
Along with the transfer case, I installed an AW4 Override switch from Montana fab which will allow me to choose 1st or 2nd gear and control when I want engine braking. Also added a transmission temp gauge. I need to remove the pan and pick up a 1/8" NPT weld in bung for the sensor.
A skid pan to protect the case will be on the list.
Drove it down the road and the case did great. I did find a leaky or sticking caliper on the rear that I will need to address, but I'm happy with the outcome this round of mods.

Friday, I got the knockoff flowmaster muffler removed and replaced with a borla. Also had a buddies shop put some 35% tint on the front two windows to knock down on the heat coming in from the sun.
Took the Jeep to Aetna Mountain with a couple of friends Saturday afternoon.
The jeep worked flawlessly. Had a good time. Loving the twin sticks and AW4 controller. So happy with those additions.
My son approves.

So my roommate had contacted Aetna mountain and they said we all had to buy year passes to wheel one weekend there. Is that true, or is there some way to just go for a weekend?

They also have general admission rides every now and then.
You can still go up the main road, just have to stay to the left. Most of the lease land is on the right side of the main road once you get on top.

I'd like to try and wheel all of the places around the southeast I can. I've knocked out Black Mountain offroad, Windrock, AOP, Choccolocco, Gulches, Uwharrie, Timber falls, and i think that's about it. Oh also, ordered the cage kit
