I Guess I'll start a build thread, Since it's the cool thing to do.
I'm between jobs/moving at the moment, so I won't be getting into anything "Heavy" for alittle while, but what the heck. Tenative lists in progress - Short term projects: 1) Refinish fading trim/body pannels 2) blackout emblems/lettering 3) "Tint" tail lights/turn signals 2) replace Blower Motor capacitor Long term Projects: 1) Front/Rear bumper replacement 2) Winch addition I started working on 1 and 2 on the short term projects list today. I picked up some Rustolium flat black primer, and some Rustolium "Trim & Bumper Revitalizer" some masking tape, and a 9x12 2mil tarp to cut up. and got down to business. I thought it was pretty funny they have the nose of what looks like an XJ on the trim/bumper paint can. haha |

Masked of the Jeep logo on the hood, what a pain, but... Git 'er done!
Note the pro paint shield for the exposed tire/rim, aka garbage umbrella. (photo above) |

Here's a before/after of my trim, it came out really nice, I'm happy with it. the photos dont quite do it justice, sadly taking them from my shoddy 3 megapixel phone camera.
Notice the shoddy brush work on the "Sport" lettering by the previous owner, on my to fix list. |
That's a very clean blue..Goodluck on your cherokee build..:gunsmilie:
|
turned out pretty good, my trim is beat lol nasty grey lookin

But I digress, I did get most of my body lettering done, just got the door lettering left to do at this point, also picked up a XJ vinyl, gonna get a "4x4" clone for the other side of the plate. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/member...xj/50105-a.jpg |

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/member...xj/50107-a.jpg And here is the notoriously "Seepy" D35 Diff. Cover, going to order a Solid diff. cover to replace this next friday. I stand corrected: C8.25 29 Spline. Oh yeah. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/member...tial-cover.jpg |
Picked up a Stanley brand toolbox at Wally world for 10$, beats the milk crate my tools were sitting in before, looking alot neater this way.
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/member...ing-before.jpg Got a pair of these coming on the big brown truck, scheduled to be here friday. http://www.quadratec.com/Assets/Imag.../140090-lg.jpg |
|
hope you didnt order your rear diff cover yet. that looks like a 8.25 to me. see how the bottom is flat in the pic... a d35 is round.
|
thats an 8.25 for sure! and it may just be a bad gasket on there. But a strong diff cover is always good too!
|
Looks good so far, and as stated that is a C8.25 and since it is a 97+ it has the 29 spline shafts too
|
Keen eyes fellas, Thanks for the head's up.
Nice to find out it's the beefier C8.25 |
no problem! thats what this site is for.
