00' XJ 4.0H.O Stroked to 4.7 Engine build

I will be starting this after work today. All the machine work has been done at Lee's Automotive Machine Shop here in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They've cleaned it, put it in the hot tank and x-rayed it for cracks. Honed my cylinders to 30 over. I found a 258 Crankshaft from FNJeep(a huge jeep yard). I had all parts shipped from 505Performance in New Mexico. I will be posting pictures of everything later today along with a list of parts. If you have any advice or technical input please feel free to get at me. Thanks for your time guys and gals

Sweet, sounds like a good plan. I will be watching with interest. This will be my next phase... assuming I ever finish this one.

Lee's has always done good work for me, though it's been quite a while since I have built anything.

Very good to hear, I'm also interested to see this beast

So the shipment arrived.!! Tomorrow, After I found out the the crankshaft is good to go at 10-10.(Rods&Main bearings). Cam bearings should be stock diameter. If it matters the 258 crankshaft is a four counter weight style.

Anyone have any education on weather or not the the eight counter weight is stronger/better than the four?

Inch Metric
Bore Diameter: 3.905 99.19
Stroke: 3.900 99.06
Rod Length: 6.125 155.58
Displacement/Cubic 280.3 4.6 Litre
Comp Distance: 1.355 34.42

Wrist Pin Info:
Diameter: 0.927 23.55
Length: 2.700 68.58

Pistons Provided By 505 Performance

Piston Type: Inverted Dome/ M
Forging Type: A3818F NC (Not Sure What This Means?)
Diameter: 3.9010 Dome Volume: -20.0
Weight: 444 Grams Gauge Point: 0.2
Deck To Crown Thickness: 0.4

I don't have any info on valve relief.

Beware dealing with 505 performance. I have yet to read a single good review on them. You may want to research them more before you buy anything from them. About the cranks. The 4cw is 20 pounds lighter and supposedly spins up faster than the 12cw version and would be better for a rally car application. But being heavier the 12cw is supposed to be better for a rock crawler because it can hold low rpm rotation better and it's the stronger of the two cranks. But the change in weight is almost unnoticeable the two cranks are completely interchangeable for any build. What really makes the difference is the different stroke of the 258 crank.

I've heard some bad reviews to. But for me his assistant Anna was amazing . And speaking to Zach(new owner) directly i was able to communicate details . They communicated with me well. I've been trying to load photos but the forum tell me the plug in is outdated . There is another lady that works for him that I really would rather not speak to. She never calls back and really is just poor piss poor at her job.

Can anyone tell me what or how the "bushing" (don't know what it is so I don't know what to call it) does for my head? Would that support the valve stem during travel ? I did reinforce the valve seats too. Just one more question does anyone have a suggestion on a rocker arm style that will hold up to the horsepower?

Are you asking about the blue valve stem seal? It keep oil from going into the valve stems and cylinder and burning oil.

I would get Harland Sharp roller rockers about $350 at summit/jegs.

Yes ok! I was pretty sure it was an oil seal but it's so much bigger than the stock oil seals
