Any changes or updates on this issue? Been curious about it, granted I sold my Jeep and live in Florida more than Maryland now.

Default Help Open Maryland Trails

The news has been up and down. At one point, the State was going to kick in some serious money to repair and develop motorized trail systems. Then we get a new DNR Secretary and then, quietly, the money was withdrawn, even after the Forest Managers had most of the paper work in place to make it happen. Very disappointing.
A group of us have formed the Maryland OHV Alliance. This where we bring together all of the motorized OHV groups under one umbrella to generate a unified voice. We each recognize each groups different needs, but we all have enough in common to pull some weight.
On the Board of Directors we have four wheel drive, ATV, Motorcycle, racing groups, etc. Snowmobiles, if they care to.
Currently, the Alliance is working on a piece of private land Western Maryland, that is pretty nice. It would be a pilot to encourage expansion. There are a few other things in the works and one even on proposed public land. Yes, flood Annapolis with letters. I recommend that each of you send your own individual letter or e-mail to the Maryland DNR and your legislators. All one has to do is look at the make up of Maryland's legislature to see why we struggle so. Right now, there is "Wildlands" proposals on the table. Wildlands is the State's version of Wilderness designations, which locks us all out. Not good. Not good at all! Check out the DNR Web Site for more information.

Sorry to hear about that but I highly doubt MD will ever see more OHV areas in my lifetime, way too many liberals there. The best thing I ever did was move away from that state. I do miss attending Ravens and Orioles games, Crab pretzels from silverspring mining company, utz crab chips , and pitbeef from chaps, fishers popcorn, and thrashers fries, and friends but nothing else
